I found this used vise for sale. This is the classified:

I have a Columbian work bench vise. #604. 4" wide jaws. Jaws opens to 6".
THERE ARE NO WELDS OR CRACKS...Jaws teeth are perfect..
Swivel base, Great Cond. $75.00

Is it worth 75 dollars?

It isn't too bad a price if vises in your area are scarce or outrageous. That will be a great vise for you and your kids. Tell them $75.00 only if they will tell you the history of the vise. Then you can tell us. On the other hand it might scare them into taking $50 since they think you are nuts. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Seems decent to me. I agree you will pay $80ish for a new Irwin/Bessey which is chinese... :)

It's worth $75, however, once you have it on the bench, you'll run across several more 4" vises for less.

And then you will buy them all. Thus running out of bench space. The OP should keep is eye out for new bench too.

I would call that a pretty good deal. Like others, I would try to get them down to $50 but would not hesitate to pay $75.
