How much money do you spend each week on tools?

My thoughts exactly. I don't really "need" anything, but "want" is another thing...lol

I even passed on a great deal on a No6 Record today, well I passed the ad on to my neighbor that has been looking for one.

I ran across a reed 8" vice today.. It was a monster. I asked the gentleman if it was for sale and his response was "Do you know how much it cost new" I played somewhat dumb and said $500.. LOL, He quickly informed me that it was around 2k and i never did get a price. I suspect he was asking way more than i wanted to give. The thing about it was it was sitting outside on a table.. :headscrat

I've about reached saturation, so I spend very little other than on larger items. I knew it was time to back off when I would find a tool at a sale, come home and open a drawer to put it away, and find another one just like it. :wtf:

Thats the same as me starting to get burnt out

Maybe $50-100 a month at most. I have most all I need at this point. I don't buy tools just for the sake of having them.

I probably should take the fifth on this but when I am selling on eBay a hundred a week down to fifteen if not. I am always trading up and usually my addition turns a profit and I keep some. I get caught up in the unknown old tools (and tool brands) at estate sales, but I am learning most are unknown for a reason. I am trying to stay in the modern stuff now ratchets and sockets as I come to realize if I buy something just cause it may be valuable if it isn’t and it is something I have no use for I got an ugly paperweight. I have a very old Reese Jack paperweight now. After making the drive to an estate sale I always have to buy something. I quit estate sale for years and now there are some many people buying tools it is much harder to find something worth buying.

I don't really have a weekly amount since I have to chase down a snap on dealer working on the road. I have spent about $10k on tools this year but one of the reasons it's so much is I bought a Miller trailblazer 302. I am about done buying hand tools but I have been buying more specialty tools.

back when i was buying a lot of tools, between all the truck accounts i was spending $300 a week.
12 years ago i cut back drastically, didnt really need anything, and didnt buy much unless i got a deal, right now i have one truck account with SO ( for work tools) that runs me $25 a week. rest my of spending at swap meets and flea mkts, and sometimes dont even spend $5 a week.

when i'm building or modifying my off road truck, i'll spend a few $$ for something that will make the job go easier, or if i know i'll use it again, but it's ussally an impulse buy and under $50 a month

I almost always buy something each week. Between the Snappy stuff for the shop and my vintage stuff to collect, I rarely spend less than $50 in a given week. It's usually more, and often a hell of a lot more.

$50 every 2 weeks to cornwell and snapon respectively. Occasionally the mac man gets some small cash purchases but ever so rarely.

I give my snap-on guy $150 every two weeks, but I get much more than that from him. I owe around $1,000 right now.
