Just like the title says what is a good price for a used Miller 252? I mean what would you pay? I want to pay the least but I don't think the guy has 210 electric so I won't be able to check it out. What should I be willing to pay?Says it only has about 100 hours on it. Looks like it is more dirty from sitting in a shop where constant welding and grinding was an everyday thing but I'm not sure. Just looks like that.

If it's in good shape I'd go 1500 without much hesitation. I've had my 251 for a lot of years and burned a **** load of wire up and it still works perfectly.

I second that. If it's in good shape with no serious issues, like someone backing into it...yes, I've seen that...than it will be a reliable rig for you.

A dirty, gritty, industrial mig welder that "has few hours on it" but you can't test it..... slightly more than scrap value.

This!

When I bought my fairly big Lincoln, it was from the LWS and not only was it under power, they permitted me to draw an arc with it.

It took me about that long to realize I was buying it.

I paid slightly more than $1000 with a new gun, regulator, hoses, and power cable.

It came from the local high school where they were all on a service contract.

I picked one up with the 30A spoolmate gun for $2000. I would say it is a good investment. It worked fine and everything looked like it was barely used even though it had some over spray pain on it. The inside looked totally new. Welded fine and didn't have now trouble pushing the wire through the gun. Only missing two things. Regulator with hose and the metal piece to hold the bottle up. Which is fine I can make that. I can get get a regulator and hose for under $100 so I think I got a good deal.
