Raised panel ratchets with a butterfly (or "Flying V") selector range from 1959-1966, made by Moore Drop Forge.

The Butterfly selector was only available between 1960 to 1963.
The patent was applied for and registered in 1959 and was first shown in the 1960 catalog. It was gone in the 1964 catalog, replaced by the Long Lever selector.

I have the 1/2" drive one from my grandpa. I love it. Just SOL as far as a rebuild kit if anything ever happens to it.

Any of the more modern rebuild kits will fit it, but it's an all-or-nothing deal. All of the V-selectors I've seen had a D-slot pawl engagement - newer pawls are a hyphen-style. So, your older V-selector won't interface with the replacement pawl. You can install the whole kit and get it working again, but, it won't have the distinctive look of the V-selector.

Here's a pair of baby rattle pawls that show the difference.
