Without documentation handy, I thought Vulcan went from the early '60s to thee late '70s/early 80s.

I've seen photos and ads (on this forum) of early an early '60s Vulcan truck. My '78 Williams catalog mentions "Vulcan" as one of the company's trademarks.

I didn't think they lasted that long, but I kept no detailed notes when I was trying to ID a Vulcan/Williams ratchet I had picked up.

Wasn't Vulcan a short lived Williams truck brand before the SO buyout?
Yes, and the tools are all identical to Williams. Sockets, screwdrivers, ratchets, wrenches, extensions, etc.

That sounds about right but I'm really not good at dating as I never focused on it, just ask some women I know . But anyway I need to find some more Williams materials. I think the catalogs I have are not even dated.
