Hey guys can anyone tell me the date of this vintage craftsman box? It looks pretty old and very clean but i couldn't find any of them online. It is at a sale coming up and i might get it if the price is right. Thank you guys.

Edit: added the Logo's pic, I don't trust the dates on the yellow logos entirely; that was what I got with them:

Mid 50s for the top box based on the Craftsman badge. Bottom has a different badge, so might be older (or the wings might be painted over -- I can't tell). I'd say the top is made by Advertising Metal Display Company out of Chicago. The early 60s Remline box I had was also made by AMD.There is a 1955 Craftsman tool catalog floating around somewhere. The top box with that badge is in it. I've got a top and bottom with that badge and one is 1955 and the other is 1957.

I have that same bottom box, although mine is in the original gray color. My Dad bought it in 1957.

Both the upper and lower boxes are in the 1957 Craftsman Hand Tool catalog. The logos are different between the top and bottom boxes. No idea why, but that's the way Sears did it at that time.

Personally, I wouldn't pay too much for those given the re-spray.

Regardless of the re-spray factor, box is worth getting depending on your use for it.

The bottom box is very interesting with the cool round edges and multiple flip up extensions. Cool vintage look. I could see it being used for dedicated purpose in my shop. I'd probably use it for a motorcycle motor assembly bench.

I'd buy it just for the bottom box alone if it were near me. I'd pay upwards of $100.00 for the pair.

I have a similar top box. Mine was painted brown some time ago. Behind the badge it is stamped "Advertising Metal Display. Chicago, Ill." The badge appears to be the 1950 - 1964 vintage from the above post. Excuse the upside down. It posted that way the first time so I turned it over before posting and it is still upside down

The box was priced at $135. It was priced to high for me to pay $135 today. Tomorrow it will be 30% which will bring it down a little under $100.
