How old is this Hazet wrench???

Can anyone tell me how old this Hazet wrench is and from what material it is made? It says "original Hazet No. 350 germany" and the backside says "special material - garantie".
Thanks

Yes sure - it´s first appearance was in the 1938s catalog till maybe 1943. It doesn´t show up in the 1949s catalog, so it should be relatively rare.

The enclosed scan shows the '38s catalog page.

I think it was taken out of production because the 450s spanners were quite similar...

Best regards,

Philipp

Honestly I'm surprised that this tool, made in Germany in the late 30s or early 40s, doesn't have a Waffenampt on it somewhere. Lots of things made in Germany during this period was marked in such a way.

Then again, I notice the text is in English, perhaps this was post-war?

They marked their export-articles that way, so yes post-war seems to be right at least for these countries without war with Germany at that time.

An other speculation would be that a dealer could have had it in stock for some time...

I got some Hazet tools from England which were marked similar.

Thanks for the information! Do you think it is pre or post war made? I'm asking because the catalog page is from 1938 and the wrench on that page clearly shows the text is English. So is there a way I can identify if this wrench is pre or post war?

I confirm it´s pre war because the 350s didn´t show up in the after war catalogs including the first export catalog from 1949. I doubt that there was a catalog printed in-between. The 300s lasted longer, but only to the early '60s.
