How the hell did I lose that?

Last spring I bought myself a used Millermatic 200 that was in rough shape cosmetically but still welded like a dream. We moved across the state in June. I've been mooching welder use of a guy up here as the garage is still too big of a mess to actually weld anything.

I have a small 10 minute welding repair that I need to do so today I decided it was time to just fire mine up now that I have the 220 run for it.

I can't find the gun, the ground cable or the 20 power extension cord. I looked in all the boxes and bins I haven't unpacked yet and no luck. You can imagine the size the container would need to be to hold all 3 of those things but somehow it appears to have just up and vanished.

Any stories of losing sizable objects that should not be losable?

Nothing that big, but I still can't figure out how I lost a deep well Snap On 10mm socket...

Any chance it went missing during the move?

I'm still finding items from lasts years garage clean-out. Course I found some things I had been missing for over a decade. It'll show, just when you least expect it

Rslaback I have a theory. Whenever you file something away so well that you can't find it, you have to admit to others that it is misplaced before it will show up.
I'm not sure why it works, but once I admit I have been looking for something and could not find it ( sometimes after days/weeks of searching) once I humble myself and announce that I cannot find it, somehow the missing item always turns up. So, since you have now admitted that to the GJ team, I am hoping my theory works as well for you as it has for me.

Hah, my BiL lost an engine stand. Really. I don't get it. But my guess is someone "borrowed" it and he forgot, or else it was flat out stolen.

Funny you should post this now. SWMBO has lost 3 new Rachel Ray casserole dishes and is going nuts trying to find them. They just got delivered a week ago and now they have vanished.I thought I was the only one that lost stuff.

If you want to find it, go buy another one. Never fails when you lose something if you get another, it will show up as soon as the new one comes home:)

Simple solution, go and buy replacements... that's when the old stuff will turn up... always happens to me that way...
