I have a 9x9 sectional door with 32" radius tracks that follows the cathedral ceiling. The door is about a year old and slowly falls when I roll it up. The door is manual, no opener. I assume I need to wind the spring a bit tighter?

I youtube'd it and found several videos showing to put 2-3 1/4 additional turns on the springs to increase the tension. DDM has a really good video outlining all of the safety precautions to take. My only question still is: does that apply to my doors as they follow the sloped ceiling?

North Idaho... almost Canada!
3 1/4 turns sounds like a lot to me. I just installed ridgid styrofoam insulation to my doors which added 15 or so pounds. 3/4 of a turn was enough to solve my problem.
If your door slowly creeps down, I'd think one turn (or possibly less) would take care of it. Try one turn... if not enough, you can always do it again.
As others have mentioned, take your time and be careful... no margin for error here!

Is he saying 2-3.25 turns(which is what I read it as first) or turn it 1/4 turn 2-3 times (1/2-3/4 of a turn)? Half to three quarters of a turn sounds about right to me.

also clamp the door shut down below at the floor .

and agree 1/2 to 3/4 turn total and try it out . i would prob do 1/2 turn since nothing changed but time . no weight was added .

had my doors spray foamed and did 3/4 turn and all is good .

If you can get someone! I called 5 shops a couple of weeks ago with no return calls. I just bought a new house and was moving things in so I didn't want to stop to fix anything. Fixed it myself in 30 minutes. Slowed my move down but it was worth it.

Whoever installed it, just have them come and tune it up.

I'll give them a call and ask if there is a fee for a tune up service. If there is a fee then I will do the work myself. It looks like it is a 5 minute job to add a couple more turns. I am more than capable of doing that. I understand the dangers associated with the springs and will take appropriate precautions.
