Hey guys, I purchased an SMC NAL4000 lubricator but it didnt come with any instructions on how to set it up, primarily how many turns one should turn the dial in order to get the correct oil drop rate.

My primary tools are impact and cutoff wheel.. basically just a weekend mechanic.

Could someone provide some insight? It looks like the following image except it has a dial beside the fill plug that one can turn by hand

I got all this for $22 on ebay, not a bad price

Anyone?

This is how I have it currently set up, I put a quick connect between the filter/regulator and lubricator in case I need oil free air (I have a 2nd hose). I never paint, however you never know what the future may hold.

I have never bothered with those because I often blow off parts out of the parts washer for paint... plus paint. Easier to throw a few drops of oil once in a while in a specific tool IMO.

Greetings nate379, I'm late to answer this but I just ran into the same problem. Seems that the documentation of SMC is not kept up solid with their upgrades to their equipment; funny how companies see all of that as just an expense - probably never had to figure anything out before. Anyway, its the sight dome itself that is now the adjustment knob. Some have an extra knob in the back, while some other models have a round nut around the sight dome that is numbered from 0 to 9 for adjusting oil feed. Well, its official and now out here for anyone else who finds themselves exhausting the net looking for an answer.
