The title says it all. My garage was built on rearward sloping land, so the concrete block foundation basically forms a walkout basement. I had the block layers leave a rough opening so an overhead door could be installed and provide a place to store my tractor, tools, atvs, etc... I now need to prep this so an overhead door can be installed. I need to attach treated 2x8s around the opening. The top is a steel lintel and the sides are concrete block. These treated boards will be covered with PVC trim boards. What method should I use to attach all of this?
Thanks,
Shane

Tapcons, PL400, Wedge-alls. Mix and match if you have too. I always use glue. The mechanical anchors are only holding till the glue dries. You will need to provide a place inside the wall (2x6) for the door tracks to mount to. I'd use Wedge-alls and glue here. You'll need 2x4 header on top to hold the weatherstriping. Then a 2x10 or 2x12 on top of that for an opener, if you desire.

Those 2x8 boards around the opening need to be secure enough to resist the torquing of the garage door spring. You'll want to make sure that they are /really/ secure...
