Ok, So I welded up a bracket for my mini-split to hang on my exterior wall. I currently have brick on the outside and then a stud wall wrapped in osb. I currently have full access to the stud wall. So I can see the osb and my brickis on the other side.

My question is what is the best way to hang this bracket? I had thought about nailing in a board between the studs up against the osb and then running a bolt throw the bracket and the new nailer and then put a nut on the bolt. My concern is the space between the osb and the brick might put pressure on the bricks. Just want my ac staying on the wall and the bricks not falling off. ;)

you could sleeve the bolt with a piece of 1/2" conduit. (or gas pipe)
use a 3/8" bolt thru a 1/2" conduit just the right length that would keep the load against the 2x4 on the inside.

on second thought you said you had a welder why not weld the conduit to a piece of angle and put the angle between the studs with some clips and bolt it to the studs. then you could run your 3/8 rod thru your bracket, thru the conduit and angle with a nut on the inside.

Thanks for the advise. I decided to put a 2x6 on the inside of the wall against the osb and just run 7" bolts through the bricks and 2x6 and then put a nut & washer on it and call it a a day.
