HOW to attach work bench to basement block wall?

Hi everyone....Im in the process of building a work shop in my basement. I was wondering whats the best way to attach the work benches to the concrete block wall would be?

I will have lots of pics as I go so stay tuned!


ANY HELP would be great!!!!

One way would be to secure a ledger board to the block wall using Tapcon fasteners.

I would do this except I would use Red Head wall anchors

Ledger board attached with liquid nails or other construction adhesive. Two or three concrete nails to hold it until dry.

2x6 ledger board with Redhead or toggle bolts. Make sure you seal the backside of the 2x6 before you mount it.

If you use tapcons, run them in the mortar joints and use a cordless impact to drive them into the holes. I hated tapcons until i started using an impact to drive them.

It is a board attached to a wall that is used to attach other things too. Most commonly used for decks attchment to a house.

2x6 ledger, construction adhesive AND Red Head Poly Set Anchors (the large size are rated for 385 lbs on hollow block). Just buy the anchors by themselves. You will need to buy 3.5" long #12 screws separately.

We anchor a lot of stuff to concrete block walls at my school. If it has any kind of weight I suggest these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Concrete-Machine-Lead-Anchor-Bolts-1-4-20-50-pc-/110665078238 instead of tapcons.

I always make a ladder frame and anchor it to the concrete on the back and use 4x4s for legs on the front. Then sheet it with 3/4" plywood and then 1/8" hardboard on top. The hardboard makes a great surface and when it gets to beat up I just replace it since it's so cheap.

As for anchors there are tons of different styles that will work.
