How to change head on PB Swiss mallet.

Anyone know how to change the heads on the small PB Swiss mallets?
Tried pulling it off and unscrewing it in my vice but no luck.

Yes, PB Swiss advise clamping the face firmly in a vice, then working the mallet handle up and down to free it!
