I asked a Mod and Ryan as politely and respectfully as I know how to. Nothing happened, I didn't even get a response from Ryan. And, Yes, he's been on the forum today, "in conversation" and "doing moderating duties".
OK ... I deleted some threads on another forum. Does that make it OK for me to be hunted and get the **** I got?
As you see, I asked 3 things ... delete my thread in the Questions & Suggestions. If that couldn't be done, I asked for the last two posts to be deleted.
I also asked to have my membership account closed.
The first PM was sent this morning around 9:30. The second was sent about 4:00.
I NEVER got a reply.
I checked the rules, posting PM's is NOT against the rules. If you read them, I did NOT get nasty, arrogant, insulting, rude or profane.
I NEVER got a reply.
So now, let me show you how to close a membership account.
Ryan,
I would appreciate if you could delete the thread at Editors>Questions & Answers >New guy starting a thread. Need a mod or admin. I am the OP of that thread.
If you are unwilling or unable to do that, I would appreciate if you could delete the last 2 posts in that thread. One of them is an off-topic attack on me, the last is my response to that attack. As I said, both of these posts have nothing to do with the topic of the thread.
I would also appreciate if you could close or delete my membership.
Earlier this week on the Vintage Machine Forum, I posted a question on somebodies very old thread. That question drew a lot of responses, and admin split the thread. Some of the questions I asked were relative to posts in the original thread, so I became the defacto OP of a thread with disjointed information. Also, an older member of the forum began to lecture me on what he felt was my lack of attention to what he was posting. I asked admin twice to take down the thread until I had better information with which to start a fresh thread. Admin refused to take down the thread. I committed the sin of deleting my posts and asking that my membership be terminated. I had hoped that all of this would be behind me. Unfortunately, that was not to be.
I have been a lurker of the GJ forum for some time. I have an old Craftsman DP and I had come here over the years seeking information on it. I became a member of this forum after the incident at VM. I’ve only posted in 2 threads, the one mentioned above, and “11b30b4’s Vintage Classic Craftsman DP Information Thread.” I think I have made a total of about 10 posts.
In the time I have been here, a member, Cruzan80, left an off-topic cryptic post to me on 11b30b4’s thread … something about “deleting threads”, which he edited later in the day to explain the whole VM incident. Please note … cruzan80 never posted on that thread, I never had any contact with cruzan80 anytime, anywhere, until he started following me around and making posts relative to the thread on VM.
Instead of addressing cruzan80 in the thread, I reached out to him via PM for an explanation. It would seem that he is very angry that I would delete my posts on an entirely different forum. Since I had no desire to argue on the internet about something that happened on a totally different forum, I explained that I was ending and closing the conversation and I closed the conversation.
I had started a thread at Editors>Q&A>New guy starting a thread. Need a mod or admin.
BTW: All of my few posts on this web forum are still in place. I would ask you to read them.
Nonetheless, cruzan80 made another off topic post about the VM matter, and I responded.
A moderator closed the thread, leaving the final 2 posts in place.
I found cruzan80’s by-now expanded post on 11b30b4’s Craftsman DP thread and reported it. A mod removed that post.
I asked a mod about the “New Guy” thread and cruzan80’s post and he told me to “let it lie”
It’s pretty clear to me that I cannot post on this forum, or perhaps any forum, due to the deletes I made on the VM forum. And that’s OK … I have no problem with moving on.
It’s also pretty clear that nothing will happen to Cruzan80 because he is a long time member and has friends on both forums. And that’s OK too. But I will say that I know, as a new member, if I had followed somebody around and attacking him TWICE with off-topic posts … I would be perm-banned anywhere.
The simplest thing to do is to ignore cruzan80 … and never post on this forum again. But then, I have a membership here with information I would not like anybody to have access to.
I would appreciate your kind consideration in this matter. I’ve already made my requests. I do not think them unreasonable, or difficult. Very sorry to bring all of this to your doorstep.

SECOND PM
Ryan,
Sorry for the second PM, but I do know you’ve been on the forum today, “performing moderation duties”.
I’m sure you have read my first PM. Why you wouldn’t have answered it I have no way of knowing. That said, I really do not think a complete rehash is necessary.
I would, however, like to take a moment to discuss some portion of the stated rules of this forum.
Quote:
“You agree to not use the Service to submit or link to any Content which is defamatory, abusive, hateful, threatening, spam or spam-like, likely to offend, contains adult or objectionable content, contains personal information of others, risks copyright infringement, encourages unlawful activity, or otherwise violates any laws. You are entirely responsible for the content of, and any harm resulting from, that Content or your conduct.
WE DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, ALLOW POLITICS, RELIGION, OR RACISM OF ANY KIND.”
If you have reviewed any of the content I have posted, I think you would agree that I have adhered to this part of the rules pretty closely. In my ten or so posts here, or even on the VM forum, I cannot recall being rude or insulting to anyone.
I know these things could be called “subjective” and “open to interpretation”, but I do think that some of the material that Cruzan80 has posted to me on two occasions could be called, “defamatory”, “abusive”, “hateful”, “likely to offend” and “containing personal information”.
Again, I understand that he is a long time member and has many friends on 2 forums. I fully understand the desire to protect him and give him a lot of latitude. Although I have pointed out that I, as a new member, would not be given the same treatment that Cruzan80 has gotten, I hope you understand that I have not made any request or demand that anything more be done to him.
I have only asked that a thread be deleted, or at least the last two posts be removed. The thread is now totally irrelevant; I will not be making any posts on the GJ forum. Failing that, I have requested that the last two posts be taken down as they are off-topic. Additionally, one contains material that I would call “defamatory”, “abusive”, “hateful”, “likely to offend” and “containing personal information”.
I do see in the rules, “We may remove or modify any Content submitted at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Requests for Content to be removed or modified will be undertaken only at our discretion.”, but I do not understand why you would not remove this content, other than you simply do not want to. You may have your reasons, but they have not been explained to me.
Finally, there is “If you wish to close your account, please contact us.” I have. Last night I ask a mod to do this, today I have now asked you twice and have not gotten any response of any kind.
I know, in your position, you have had to deal with these things a million times. You probably have a file cabinet full of PMs like mine.
Well, I think I have made my position clear. I have a couple of requests, and I made them as clearly, politely and respectfully as I could. I think my requests are clearly explained and more than reasonable. Again, I ask you give them your kind consideration.
Thank you.
