How to dilute Copper Anti Seize?

My Permatex Copper AntiSeize is getting kind of hard. What is the correct stuff to dilute it?

Xylene or oil or ???

I used laquer thinner with the reg stuff and it worked well. Keep the top on!

usually dump abit of engine oil in there when its abit dry. in college they watered it down with some thin oil, like 3 in 1 or WD.

Anything slippy, wet and non evaporating should do the kob.

I started a thread on this a little while ago. I wound up using some Marvel Mystery Oil. Poured a little in kept mixing and adding until it was smooth again. Don't how to link the thread but you look in my statistics to find it.

Main question is what about the soap base? Anti-seize is basically grease (soap, oil) with some stuff in it so it works when its dried out. Is it just the case that adding more oil to it works? I mean from a chemistry point of view? As a practical matter it will make it more spreadable.

That's one perspective. I would say that anti-seize is actually "stuff" with some grease to keep it stuck together and make easier to apply.

MMO would be a good choice, it's primary component is the same as the anti seize compound. This is a time when MSDS comes in handy.

i use motor oil. just a dab will do.

I imagine it varies, but the stuff we use at work is regular mineral oil base. Says so on the can.

I was told kerosene would work well with the silver stuff...pretty sure MMO is basically highly refined kerosene too.

Well, I used some MMO in the copper stuff and it worked like a charm. Got it back to a sticky, but pliable consistency.
