I'm trying to find out how to remove the handle on a reed 405 vise. Any one happen to know how to get the round ends off the bar?

Don't know about that particular vise, but on most you have to cut it off. If it's riveted you might drill it out on the end but that's a lot of work.

On most of the ones I took apart, I threaded a custom made knob nut on the end to be able to disassemble it in future. But never had to anyway...

Don't know that exact vise but if it's a press fit you may be able to heat it and slam it off. Maybe.

Got a hacksaw? Or you might be able to press the ball off the end with a shop press... maybe. Most vise manufacturers made the handles semi-permanent and not removable, other than by destructive means.
