Hi all,

I am in the process of finishing my 30x40 pole barn. I will be running water to it from the house and will have a utility sink out there. Not sure how/where to drain the sink. I will be connecting the downspouts on my pole barn to 4" corrugated tile lines that will run underground away from the pole barn. My thought is to shoot the PVC line through the wall of the pole barn and somehow direct it into the tile lines for the downspout discharge. I probably will not be using the sink in the winter months, so there's no worry about freezing. Any thoughts on this? How would I connect the 1 1/2" PVC to the 4" tile line? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

That's exactly what I did. But I connected it to a 4" pave solid and just used a ..?..1 1/2" to 4", or maybe a 2" to 4". I forget.

Just dig a nice big hole and drop in a 55 gallon plastic drum full of rocks (drywall)at the end of the drain . That will handle any typical barn run off during cold months.

in some areas, you can't drain the sink to the storm water or dry wells.

You might check your local regs...
