I'm not sure what the proper term for this is, but I have a slab, which has a drain in the middle. Some spots trap water (like an upside down frisbee...not a crack or hole). An example might be a 2 X 2 ft2, 1/2" deep in the center. I can squeegee it out, but I'm looking at leveling it out. Should I be looking for an overlay, even though I'm only looking at filling those spots before grinding everything off to a even floor? I'm just afraid that some patches might "sit" on top of the existing floor, rather than bond with it.
Also, 1/3rd of the slab has cracked from 1 end to the other and has settled at an opposite angle, making the water drain to the wall instead of the drain in the middle. I have no expansion joints. Any ideas to fill that section so that it slants toward the middle drain?
