I had a garage built in the fall of 2011 and the concrete guy that did the slab didn't do the best job at creating a flat slab. On one side of the garage, there is a concave area that collects substantial water. He was supposed to create a 1" slope down toward the doors, which didn’t happen. It became painfully apparent that the slab was much worst than I thought the first time we parked the trailblazer over that area and the snow melted. It looked like a shallow swimming pool.
In any case, what’s done is done. The guy was a hack and we had a few heated discussions when he was on the job. I should have fired him but I made a mistake. I don't ever want to see the guy again and it is not worth my time or money to pursue the matter in court.
So I am looking for a solution as to how I can fix a relatively large area in the center of one bay that collects a lot of water. The area is approx 10' x 10' and maybe 1/2" deep. I plan on eventually using an epoxy coating over the entire floor so the repair does not have to look pretty as long as it is smooth, can be feathered into the rest of the floor, and is durable.
My first thought was to go with some sort of two-part epoxy and fill in the area. I would try to get it fairly flat when installing it and then use a grinder to feather the edges. Is this a good idea? Any other ideas?
