Last weekend I prepped my garage floor (TSP Cleaner used with a floor maintainer, Power washing, scrubbing, etc) and proceeded to apply an Acid Stain by H&C Concrete (distributed by Sherwin Williams). Unfortunately I did my test spot in artificial light and when I got to the edge of the garage in natural light the gray I thought I had been applying turned emerald green. Needless to say green wasn't quite what I had in mind for the floor.
Since then I have tried applying a water-based decorative stain (H&C Decorative Tumbled Stone) on top to see if I could turn it gray or at least tone down the green. No such luck to this point. The solution soaked right into the concrete but the solids from the stain appear to have settled at the top as they can be wiped off with a damp cloth.
At this point I'm looking for ideas on what to do next. Anyone have any suggestions besides tile?
(BTW: the H&C products worked exactly as described, it was just unlucky that I didn't think to do my test spot in natural light so don't take any of this as a slight against them; I knew there was some risk when I went the acid stain direction!)
Thanks!
