How to form a pole building floor

Have a covered pole building approximately 40 wide x 60 long. The left 20 feet of this is finished and occupied nicely. The right side of this is not. I want to close in the right side.

My intention is to pour concrete first. The new concrete will be finished at the same elevation as the concrete on the finished side of the building.

My question is where to form the concrete at then outside edges of the floor. My first thought is to simply make a form by attaching the boards directly to the outside of the poles having the poles surrounded by concrete.

The problem comes in when I frame the walls. I intend to frame the walls just like any other pole building. Horizontally directly attached to the poles 2' on center all the way up.

Doing it this way, I will end up haveing the wall extend past the concrete by the full thickness of the wall. Maybe that's how its done. Seems it might be wise/ better to make the concrete forms 2"-3" beyond the vertical wall poles.

hope I didn't confuse anyone. Its a bit hard to explain.

Wrap a couple of stacked 2 x 6 PT T & G boards around the outside at grade. This is your "rat wall". Pour your concrete inside the "form". Leave the rat wall in place and your stringers will build level to it.

Right. Make a form for the concrete and leave the boards where they are when it done in lieu of taking them out. Duh. Didn't think of that. Sometimes the most obvious solution is the one you don't see.

When you say" 2 x 6 PT T & G boards", do you mean 2x6 green pressure treated tongue and groove?

Don't ask.
The way my pole barn was built the lowest girt (that the siding is attached to) was used as the form for the concrete floor. I've seen others done this way as well.

How you described is how I did mine.

X2. What I do is use a pressure treated 2x12 as the bottom girt. I bury this part way, so the top of the 2x12 is at the desired level of the concrete. I then add 2x4 girts up the poles as needed and hang the siding from them. The siding actually overlaps the bottom 2x12 by a couple of inches to prevent water intrusion under the wall.

Staple some foam around your post before you pour. It will help with inside corner cracks and increase the poles lifespan at grade.
