I would look for some way to isolate the opener from the ceiling of the garage. Like rubber bushings, or small motor mounts. Hang the bushings from the ceiling, then the opener from the bushings, so that the opener is not directly attached to the ceiling. This should prevent translation of the vibration of the opener through the ceiling and floor joists into the room above.
My disclaimer is that I haven't done this myself, but did use motor mounts as part of a sound abatement plan for a compressor.
