I need an air hose reel guide roller from their 3/8 X 50ft. Retractable air hose reel. I googled and found a part diagram but it doesn't show a part number for the whole assembly it shows part numbers for each individual part nut/bolt etc... I emailed Central Pneumatic several weeks ago and never heard back.

Has anyone had to order parts from them? Is there a retailer I should be using?

Looks like the only choice you have is the whole fairlead - manual item # 27, "roller bracket ***'y" - from here
https://manuals.harborfreight.com/manuals/62000-62999/62344.pdf

I've NEVER had good luck with parts from HF stuff, IIRC I called their #, asked for "customer service", tried to get someone with English as at least a Second language, and explained what I needed - but good luck with even doing that, it's a good possibility your answer will be "we don't show that part in our system", or some such...

Probably have more luck just buying a winch fairlead, except it'd cost you more than buying a new 50' reel when they're on sale -

I have several of those along with a few of the 25' ones, and if that happens to one of mine (and the REST of it's still good) I'll most likely just fab one from scratch using something like 1/4" pipe with 1/2" pvc pipe over it for each of the 4 rollers, make a little wider "window" than the original, and use 1/4" bolts for "axles" - if the "face plate" of the new one is made big enough, you could tack weld coupler nuts on at each corner of the window, just far enough away so there'd be room for lock nuts WITHOUT them getting in the way of the rollers -

Or, to save time, I guess a person could just take a job as a Walmart greeter, and use THAT money to buy a NEW hose reel

(OK, so I get a LITTLE bit carried away sometimes :dunno:... Steve

Yeah that #27 is exactly what I need! Now I just need to source it. I think I did call a while back and didn't get far then emailed them and never got a response...

I hate to say it, and I'm not a big fan of doing it, but HF doesn't really give an option for replacement parts; you could always buy another to get the part you need and return it under the 90 warranty. Like I said, it wouldn't be my first choice, and obviously isn't yours since you are asking about how to get a replacement, but it is certainly a last option.

Those Coxreel guides are why I mentioned making a WIDER window if I were to build one - the originals are already narrower than I'd like, it's hard to get the hose to lay right all the way across when winding it up. Price is cheaper than what I found tho... Steve

Unfortunately that's just Harbor Freight. I had a Caster Fail on one of their 1 1/2 Ton Aluminum Jacks. I called the Customer Service to see if I could just get a replacement Caster, I wasn't even considering Warranty..... No dice. Part not available. I considered just buying a new jack, and swapping the casters and returning the Jack, but they are different. So what I did was cut a piece of 3/4" plywood, took the other caster off, bought some carriage bolts and conduit clamps......put it all together and now I have a light duty floor jack that I can use in soft dirt/sand. Its also good for hot days on hot asphalt.

We have a couple salvage places that sell HF returns. Imagine that. People buying broke **** that was returned to a HF. I did get a water pump someone used likely for one job then returned. Works perfect.

But.

For the stuff I do buy there if I see it at the salvage store I'll buy it I'd the price is right. Bought an air nibbler that way for 90 percent off. Figured it good for parts. Their rock and vibratory tumblers get returned a lot. Easy fix. New belt. Having said all that. Never seen hose reel in the salvage.

Have you considered fabricating a new one? wouldn't be hard to do, I can thing of 4-5 designs, akin to winch fairleads. You could probably even make one that's roller-less, our of nylon or delrin. Or simple enough to make a frame, use bolts with PVC pipes or smooth sprinkler risers over the bolts, freely spinning.

Harbor Freight has a parts warehouse, I THINK it is in California. They have a toll free telephone number so you can call them and order the part you need. I had the phone number for them, but I don't recall where I wrote it down. I have ordered parts from them in the past, got thru right away and they had very good customer service. Additionally, they were very good about getting the stuff I ordered shipped out right away.

If you call a Harbor Freight store near you, or just go and talk to someone in a local store, I am sure they can give you the telephone number to call. Give them a call, have the model number of the item that you need a part for, and if you have a part number that would be even better. I didn't have part numbers, just a model number, but they looked up the part numbers while I was on the phone with them, they gave me a price, it was less expensive than I had figured, and I ordered the stuff with a credit card. I was very happy with the way it worked out.

I had that same telephone number, but never called it, as life got in the way.

The manager at your local store should have the number. That's how I got the number.

If I remember correctly they will only carry parts of its over a certain dollar amount. Remember something to the effect that a 40" toolbox was under that amount and a 56" was over.

I always considered things from Harbor Freight to be disposable.

I agree.

The reason I never called the parts number is that the tool, possibly their 4 ton portable power clone, was so poorly made that I figured it would just fail again in the same manner, so why beat my head against the wall trying to salvage it with new parts.

The part number for that Coxreels guide is 1728-3 and has a list price of $19.00. We sell the **** out of them but I am currently out. I would think any distributor near you would stock them, they are a common replacement part.
