Im looking to start at the very beginning of building a shop but it seems the start is the hardest part... I dont know where to begin. I have a rough idea of what I want but the process of finding contractors to start pricing it is tough. How do you guys do it? Shall I just pick up the phone book and start calling? Anyone know of some reputable contractors i nthe Charlotte NC area? Im kind of leaning towards a pole building but Im open to steel or stick build as well. Seems tough trying to decide. I plan on doing any work I can myself but definetly need some one to clear and build the foundation.

Thanks for any tips.

I live in Huntersville and I had Custom Buildings two years ago build my garage and they were very good job...I highly recommend them! They have many locations in the Charlotte area, in Denver they have couple garages built for customers to look at. A basic 24 x 24 two car garage starts at $10 grand...(stick built) on your property...
