How to get started with Milwaukee M18?

So this is What I am comparing as of right now- All brushless motors, done my best to compare Apples to Apples as best as possible…

Thoughts and ideas?

It’s tough to go apples to apples when the sets end up so different, my 2 cents is you will be well served with either, and they seem really close given the Milwaukee extras being more valuable than the DeWalt.

For my $$$ I’d be leaning Dewalt. As a Milwaukee guy I can’t get excited about thier cordless nailers, and DeWalt really seems to have nailers figured out. Since that was the crux of your purchase I think DeWalt wins. Is there a dedicated reason for the 3/8 impact In each group? I find my 1/2“ is my go to, and the 3/8 used more sparingly.

The two groups of tools are almost identical exceprlt for the freebies which I have a limited selection to choose from and the battery sizes which are driven by the kits that I can't change sadly.


As for the 3/8 discussion, I asked a while ago and was recommended the mid torque for suspension work I have planned in the cars,. So I just went with it

Thats what made me lean toward the DeWalt - the freebies in you case actually add a bit to the cost. There is enough money left on the DeWalt deal to buy another bare tool of your choice and still be ahead.

I think the 3/8" vs 1/2" is just user preference. They're the same gun otherwise in a lot of cases. I only went 1/2" with the M12 because my special tools were 1/2".

Sadly, as much as it "makes sense" to buy into a single battery line, at some point you just wind up having to get into another. Either some specific tool is way better with one brand/voltage, or the tool-only cost for rarely used tools just can't be justified.

Well all, thank you so much for your help!

I ended up buying the Brad nailer and a battery set from seemingly reliable sellers on ebay, and I am about $400 in on the system. I really just didn't want to buy new drills when my current ones work so well.

I am looing forward to playing around with tools this weekend! few projects are on my to do list that I havent been able to do because my other nailer broke
