Welp, I purchased an air drill from the cornwell truck the other day. He threw in a jacobs quick change chuck with it. So I went to change it, I pulled the small allen head screw out and went to pull off the chuck but it didnt budge. My coworker (mechanics) told me to put a prybar behind the chuck and pry it off. I tried, the chuck didnt come off but I did manage to make the chuck not move anymore (it wont tighten or loosen). Now i've got a broken drill. Any idea how to get the chuck off without damaging the drill?

Throw the short end of an Allen key in there, tighten it up (if it's not completely screwed up), give the Allen key a smack to loosen the chuck off the threads.

That's how we all did it on our Sioux, Pan-Am, CP drills.

The check should be threaded on. Was the screw down inside it left handed threads?

Those chucks thread on, grab the chuck with something and reverse the drill after taking the screw out.
