How to "hack" Mr Heater?

Hi!

I heat my garage with a 100lb propane tank + 30K to 80K BTU Mr Heater Convection heater.

But I would like to know how I could control the amount of gas entering the heater in order to get %50 or %60 of the minimum 30K BTU setup.

Firstly is it safe?...to plan something like that...

If safe what is the name of the adapter I should look for on the market to plug somewhere in between the 100lb gas tank and my Mr Heater.

I just want to be able to set the heater on a low level once my garage is warm that way I don't have to turn it off too often and I can keep some sort of average temperature without emptying the tank to fast as well.

For what you are doing it might be better to just get a small electric to keep your garage warm after the big one brings up the temp?

@y20dth: I whish I could but where can I do that? Is there on the market any kind of low pressure regulator with a handy control? I tried to turn the blue cap as seen on picture but this thing don't seem to be designed for that.

@Mmfh: Thanks for the tip but I try to be AC & electrical heating free with this garage hence the emphasis on insulation.
