How to ID a Blue Point roller cart?

Hi, All:

A couple of years ago, I bought a Blue Point roller cart off of Craigslist. It had a stick-on Snappy logo on it. The seller said he'd bought it from his Snap-On guy because the Blue Point was cheaper than the Snap-On equivalent. I think I paid $100 for it. Well, the cart looks an awful lot like a U.S. General, or any other Chinese, roller cart. Then again, Blue Point stuff may be made in the same factory. Who knows.

My question . . . Is there a model number or serial number anywhere on the cart, like on Snap-On boxes? I've looked and can't find anything, but I don't know that I'm looking in the right place. I don't have a pic of the box here at work, but I'm attaching a couple from the Internet, one showing a black HF cart and another a blue Blue Point. The boxes look identical to me.

I guess it doesn't really matter what I have, it works great and is built like a tank. But I'd like to know what it is that I actually have. Many thanks in advance.

You probably have a Blue Point KRBC9T. The current model number is a KRBC10TA. I know of some less than honest dealers that were peeling the Blue Point sticker off and putting a Snap-on logo and then selling the carts as Snap-on. Snap-on carts will have a sitcker on the back with the model and serial number.

Thanks, Chadster. That makes me feel better. After I posted, I noticed some differences between the HF and Blue Point, like the number of bolts for the vertical supports/legs and the shape of the caster "arms". I dug up a pic of mine here at work. It's the picture from the original Craigslist listing. And, no, I don't recall there being a sticker on the back. I'll have to look when I get home.

One thing I need, that you might be able to help me with is the gas shocks (or whatever else it may have come with) for the lifting top. Mine are missing, although the mounting points are all there.

Is that something I could order through you?

Thanks again!

That is a KRBC9T, maybe an KRBC8T. Not really any difference between the 2 carts. Let me get back to you with the part number on the gas shocks. Yes you will be able to order them thru my site.

BTW, you got a deal for $100 on that. Those are pretty solid carts.

Thanks
Chad

Thanks again, Chad. I think what I need is KRBC8T9, Hinge, Clip & Pin Set. Apparently, it's just a mechanical hinge rather than gas shocks. I sent you a PM about it.

Talk to you soon.

Chadster, I bought a used basic Blue Point Red Cart. Top Tray area, Bottom Tray area, Chrome Legs. White Blue Point stickers on Red Trays.

Any significant resale value, because its part of S.O. family or NOT ????

Thanks

Kinda hard to say without pics. If it is the cart I am thinking about, they go for about $119 new. Not much of a resale market in my route on them because everyone wants something bigger.

main thing is clean the cart before you take a pic. power wash the **** out of it even the casters. makes a difference to me when I get one in trade, that way I do not have to clean it and I can sell it at the next stop.... if Not the trade in price goes downa little b/c no one wants to pay for a dirty cart

I think it is the same cart. I do not have a blue point one here to check for sure though. The newer BP carts have a slightly different lock system for the drawers and they now have a hydraulic opener, but the older ones are a dead ringer for the HF cart with the exception of the small handle on the front of the lid. At least from what I can tell in the pics I've seen. Oh, and one bolt is in a different place as mentioned. Take a look at yours and compare to my pics if you can. I would love to find our for sure.

Not bump a eight year old thread.

Google snap on, go to the website and search for “lockset tool cart”. Bobs your uncle.

Where do you find the parts lists like this? I have most of the catalogs starting at 1958 but don't find parts lists. I want to identify my Blue Point Roll Cart that I haven't found in the catalogs. It has a sticker on it but the left side is worn - see photo. What I can see says (it looks like a couple of characters) then "X107 $299.00". The next line is a bar code that I can't read what I think is the first character then "42429 52047 9" and underneath that "BOOK850"
