how to insert a poll?

i tried googling it, i found something about a core poll module but i dont know wtf that is. then i tried searching here but didn't find anything. maybe i'm blind.

i want to do a poll. not necessarily in this forum, but another forum. it's set up similar. there's a check box at the bottom of the page that says "yes, post a poll with this thread" then asks for the number of poll options.

i check that but i don't see any options to add poll questions.

I did a poll here recently and just followed all the prompts. Other forums may be very different.

After you submit the message it will go to another page to add the poll..

thanks. i couldn't figure that part out. i thought i was missing something. i checked the box to add a poll, then hit submit new thread and there were all the options for the poll.
