Hey everybody :)

I just made a quick video showing how to install a protective boot on an impact wrench.

I think that if you have never installed one before, it would be pretty hard to understand how to get the boot on without damaging it.

Check it out & let me know what you think!

Thanks!

Not bad. I've always soaked my new boot in in a big gulp cup full of hot water with a lid on it for several minutes, shook most the water off of it, and slid it in the impact.
It may add bulk to an impact but, a quality boot will absorb the tool's lifetime of bumps, drags, and drops. definitely worth its price.

I bring a pot of water to boil and toss in the boot for 2 minutes. Remove the boot from the boiling water, shake off excess water and install.
Toss it into the freezer for about 10 minutes for the final fit.

I just spray a little soapy water on the inside of the boot and it slides right on. I keep a boot on every air tool I can get one for.

My method follows these steps.

1. Pay for boot.
2. Remove boot from plastic wrap
3. Apply boot to gun
4. When you are done with the gun remove boot and sell the gun on ebay as an almost new never used gun lol. Just kidding this is why I refuse to buy air tools that are already used.

I never used hot water I just slip the sleeve over the guns never had an issue.

Very well made video, from a technical standpoint. Being a broadcast video engineer, I'm impressed with editing, camera work, etc.
What did you use to shoot and edit with?
