Guys, I recently bought a couple of inexpensive Craftsman tool stands

I'm looking for some help figuring out how to install casters on the legs. The legs have hard plastic caps that have a center hole with a recessed nut shape well to trap a nut (not sure.. maybe 3/8). I'd like to put casters on but I suspect that the plastic would crack the first time I hit a bump. Any ideas about how to attach the casters to the legs without the plastic? I'm not "welding capable" so it would have to use wood and bolts or screws. The tables will be used for a small drill press and disc sander. Thanks for any ideas!

I would remove plastic caps and for exp if the legs are 2"x2" 16g angle cut up the angle for 2" then bend the pieces inward they would overlap one another making a flat bottom then drill a hole and bolt caster

If you have spare pieces of similar angle, do as suggested by S Ont.-- to short sections, then bolt them to the inside of those legs. That way nothing is altered permanently and I think it will be easier to do the bending.

3/4 plywood same size as stand put casters on, bolt stand to plywood. Now you can store underneath.

Or go one step farther and use angle iron like the bottom shelf is made, drop in the plywood, then bolt the caster thru each corner.
