How to make an LED Magnetic work light for $2

Step 1: Use a free flashlight coupon at Harbor freight to get a free 3xAAA LED flashlight

Step 2: Dig up that old magnetic Maglite holder you bought at a yardsale for $2 5 years ago, and stick it to your machine

Step 3: Use that piece of scrap delrin you've been saving to make a sleeve for the flashlight, and stick it into the holder.

Step 4: Click button

Another cool thing about this is that the flashlight can quickly and easily be removed to do a more detailed inspection from a different angle on the part, without having to readjust the holder.

Yeah.................I'd get tired of replacing batteries in a hurry. I'll pony up for a 110V unit.

The rechargable batteries I'm using in this light last for 25-30 hours... I do a few hours of machining a week, only a small amount of which requires lighting. At that rate I have to unscrew the flashlight endcap a couple times a year. I think I can cope.

On top of that, I switch this between my lathe, mill, drill press, and bandsaw, so screwing with the cord of a 110v unit would be a MASSIVE pain in the *** compared to occasionally replacing batteries.

Four good corded LED machine lights would cost somewhere between $200-400 or more.
