hi all. when I try to post a pic it comes out small and says "attached thumbnail" above it. is there any way to make the pics bigger where you don't have to click on it to enlarge it? thank you

Don't use photobucket unless you want the photos to disappear in the future when you accidentally move or rename the folder.

Are you aware that photos attached to the posts can be made large by clicking on them and opening them?

yes smks. I am aware lol

Then you must know that you can make the pictures hosted here appear in the post in the same way as a photobucket photo.

Photobucket (PB) is a photo hosting site. It's free for a certain amount of storage or bandwidth. If you surpass that, you'll have to upgrade to a Pro account.

All you have to do is sign up and create an account. Once that is done, you upload your pictures. Once they are uploaded, copy/paste the image (IMG) tag here.

I switched from PB [photobucket] to Imageshack. Imageshack is not quite free; it costs a buck a month, but there is no limits to size, amount, views etc. There is a bit of a learning curve, it's not as simple as PB.

I don't understand why guys use an off-site place to post pics, it's really not that difficult to post a pic here and it really ***** when you go back to the archives for reference and the pics are all gone.

^^^Costs are now up to $4/month or more.

The problem on sites I've tried is that you are limited in the amount of pics. Granted I haven't checked GJ's rules. I would love it if I could just add a pic in my post but from what I understand there is a limit to storage space, and that makes sense to me.

it is best to just host it here for the benefit of readers a year or 2 from now.
9 out of 10 times if you host at photo bucket, you will delete it, and the post becomes almost useless to someone trying to research something.
Please just host here.

Edit, I think you can copy/paste a picture here though, and it will stay too.

Two words...... Random rotation.

It seems about half the time I try and upload a pic here from my hard drive, the pic comes out either sideways or upside down. I've never figured out how to deal with it. I use Flickr because it doesn't limit your bandwidth, even on the free account like photobucket does. I have hundreds of pics stored on PB and never had a problem til I started linking them on here, then BAM! they locked out my pics with that stupid gray box that says "Looks like someones popular" ****. I love Flickr too for the sizing options. 640x480 works for general pictures on MB's but I can usually get away with using a little bit bigger pic without having to scroll, if detail is of concern.
