for ball bearing, i use engine oil (mobil1 10W-30) in a syringe with a 4 inch needle (file the tip so you won't pierce yourself)

for friction slides, just brush brake caliper grease inside the channels on the box and on the drawer, cover all three sides of the channel, not just the top and bottom. there's a version called 'extreme ceramic brake grease', although it's best to use on brakes, it has too much solid content for the toolbox slides.

i wouldn't put any lighter grease on friction slides, if you put engine oil, it'll probably feel smoother when empty, but it'll start grinding once it's loaded. brake grease makes the slides feel more 'sticky' when empty, but won't get pushed out of the friction surfaces after the drawers are loaded up.

take the slides apart
brake cleaner or degreaser and clean/scrub them
you can use a fine wire brush or stiff brisle brush
use a file or sand paper to smooth out any burs or bumps
lube it up and put it together. use a dry teflon lube if you can
if you have a relativly clean garage (not much dist or dirt and you dont do woodworking) then you can use a light oil or a grease.
wax is good to use on slides but not on the bearings
