How to mix concrete floor patch

Hi,

I just moved to a rental home, my first home with a garage. The detached garage has a floor with some significant (but not dangerously deep) holes in which I would like to patch with quickcrete. The problem is that I do not have a wheelbarrow, and that's the only way I've mixed it before.

Because these holes aren't deep enough to do the mixing in-hole (I don't think, anyway), does anyone have any alternate suggestions for how to mix up quickcrete to patch up the floor?

5 gallon bucket? Creativity and past experience appreciated -- thanks in advance!

Make a pile on a piece of plywood, hollow the center like a volcano, add water to the center and mix with a shovel from the center out.

The 5 gallon bucket will work fine if the holes are small.

5 gallon bucket, or get a 'mortar mixing pan' at the home center. Black plastic rectangular pan, come in a couple of different sizes (like 2x3 ft or 3x4 ft, maybe 8-12 inches tall/deep). Maybe ~$20 or so??

All depends on just how much you have to mix up.

Or just go get a wheelbarrow. You can use it for all sorts of stuff around the house besides as a concrete/mortar mixing container.

5 gal bucket and a mixer for a half inch drill motor. If you don't have the mixer or the drill, the wheelbarrow will be cheaper.

Add the mix to the water, not the other way around. Feather out with leveling compound which you will need the mixer for.

How bout a small childs swimming pool; Home Depot or Lowes. Also if you are using sack creat add 1/2 bag of Portland cement per bag ; richens up the mix and works a lot better.

A picture and a location in your profile would both be worth a thousand words. How about a plastis dish washing pan, or a cat littler plastic pan.

Sweep a clean area right next to your repair, pour out a mound of patching material, crater it and add the water and mix it right on the floor. I've done it a zillion times.
