How to mount lights?

My new garage has metal roofing on the ceiling. Trusses are on 4' centers. I was given several 4-bulb drop in ceiling grid lights that came out of a school. Lights are 4' X 2'. I want to mount them directly to the ceiling. I do not want to hang them. Beyond sheet metal screws(which I don't trust), I can't come up with anything to hold them securely to the ceiling. I considered toggle bolts but I really hate putting those big holes in the ceiling in case I need to swap out later.

Any other suggestions greatly appreciated.

Sheet metal screws are more robust then toggle bolts ever will be, anytime something is fastened to framing members it will be much more secure then a piece of tin holding it to drywall.

So is there an attic area? Is this an all steel building? Got pictures? I'm not following precisely.

I'd find a way to mount the fixtures long ways and perpindicular to the trusses, involving the trusses somehow.

If it's wood trusses, then put a screw into the trusses.

If it's metal trusses I'd think about running some lumber across the trusses and affixing the fixture to that lumber.
