OK cool... gotcha. I don't know if my box has those type of slides or not, but if it does, I'll be better prepared. Thank you sir.

This is my third try to get a good picture of that area of the slide due to glare. You can see it's not a tang, it's just formed like that to hold the slide in place.

If you get a plastic pry bar like the one I have, all you need to do is force it down as shown in my pic above. Then the slide just lifts up, easy-peasy.
For the similar job with the piece on the drawer, I use a small flat blade screwdriver, it goes in from the bottom and the slide swings down. That's a little easier to figure out, since you can see both sides.

I had the same problem. I used a largish prybar. Major PITA. Next time I'm making by dealer do it for me. Very poor design.

I think this design is for production ease. A guy with a little practice can snap those slides in in seconds, then it's done. No screws to position and tighten.

Everything seems to be going this way.

Remember back in the day, computer cases? The top and sides were one piece, usually hooked under the front, but held in the back with 4 or 6 screws. Now they just snap together, no screws needed. Car interior trim is another culprit. All that plastic stuff just snaps together, takes 2 seconds on the production line, but is hell to mechanics who need to remove it.
