Hey,

The dreaded Pink Post Its stain showed its ugly head once again.*

They got wet when on the counter top and left this stain.

Afaik the counter has been sealed only with oil.

What would be the most sensible approach to remove it?

Thank you.

* Made it sound a bit more dramatic for additional attention. 😇

Our granite contractor makes a poultice that smells heavily of orange, not sure what is in it. It’s a white pasty cream. They apply that to the stain and several inches around it. Cover with plastic wrap and seal the plastic perimeter to counter with masking tape.

They had me reapply this every couple days. Each time removed everything, scrapped clean, then reapply. I think I reapplied 2-3 times plus the initial.

It took the stain out.

Sorry I don’t have any more details.

I'd probably try acetone first but you will need to reseal the granite. You can make a poultice out of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda make a paste cover with plastic leave overnight and wipe it off in am. May need to try a few times. I'd avoided heavy scrubbing with anything abrasive (including the baking soda) as you can scratch the granite (can always repolish if necessary). Good luck.
