First actual post here, and thought I'd start off with my stupidity haha. We built our house 5 yrs ago and finished the garage floor with rustoleum brand epoxy floor coating w/ the flakes. The garage floor was poured in the middle of Dec. 07' and it sat untouched until the house was finished and we moved in Aug 08'. I did the floor coating myself the weekend we moved in and let it sit for 2 days before driving on it. However it has been flaking off ever since. The guy that did our concrete said it would be fine to apply the epoxy coating directly to the floor as it was; which I pressure washed it first. Apparently I still needed to use the etching cleaner first. Anyways.....the actual question is how do I go about fixing it now?

Your best bet is to mechanically grind off the old coating. Doing so will also leave a profiled surface that is suitable for a quality epoxy coating product

Thats what I was afraid of. I shoulda done what I thought to start with and not even listened to the concrete guy and probably wouldn't have this problem.
