No matter where I put my grease gun, seems like I am always cleaning up a mess. How other people store your grease gun when your finished with it? Clete

I use a large rubbermaid food storage container with some paper shop towels on the bottom. Even the "no leak" grease guns leak, and this contains it.

It's a little more trouble, but since I don't use mine often, I started a couple years ago of pulling the plunger out when I'm finished. Works pretty well so far. I still lay it in the pan I have for collecting oil.

Top off an old washing machine which has a 1" lip, with a piece of cardboard on the bottom. Works well, and the lip will contain anything the cardboard doesn't soak up.

Thank you to everyone for the ideas. I am going to make one using the PCV pipe idea. Thanks 383 240Z. That should keep things neat and tidy Clete

I just bought a plastic tub with lid to my grease guns and funnels. They are a pain because of the leaking grease, so this has to be better than just hanging there leaking.

I just keep mine in a blue shelf bin with an absorbent pad in the bottom. I don't think I've ever changed the absorbent pad.

I like those home-made ones. Mine only leak when I keep mine in an oil drain pan but they don't seem to leak there. If I use one and leave it on a counter or on the floor, it will leak all of the oil that it's been saving up all those weeks while it's been in the pan.

I store on top of my drain pans or inside a bucket. For travel I wrap one in plastic grocery bags and carry inside a small cardboard box...with wheel bearings and boat trailer hubs.

I was so sick of mine dripping all over so I made this one out of PVC. The small 90 degree fitting that the tip is in drains back inside the tube. I have a bolt with an o-ring on it in the bottom so I can drain it.

I have some hoops cut out of PVC to hold them and a small section of evestrough under it to catch the drips, works great and cheap.
