You need a primary control with a higher "VA" rating. I would think a 40va rating would do what you want.

Just a bump to let everyone know that I got my thermostat working finally. As usual I had a couple family inflicted detours. But I did get it installed and working. I used a relay and transformer, followed Rockhead's diagram. And works like a charm.

Now I am able to adjust my shop thermostat from my phone or computer anywhere. Also set to send me an email in case of under temp or over temp situation. Best part will be able to crank up the heat from the house or car and not have to trudge through the snow and cold to do that.

Pretty happy with the setup now. Hope it works as planned.

Cheers,
Ron

That's good to hear Ron, I purchased 2 Honeywell WIFI thermostats about a month ago, put 1 at home and 1 in my shop. I like the 1 at home because I can easily program it from my laptop, oh, and now I have complete control of the heat without anyone else knowing. The 1 in my shop allows me to turn the heat up before I leave work or from home, my shop is a couple of blocks from my house, so that is really nice. I am also able to run the heat cooler than I used to in the shop because I can turn it up an hour or so before I get there. Also if I forget to turn it down before I leave I can turn it down from my phone or it will drop when it hits the next control period.
