So i purchased a new ceiling heater, link below, and need some help wiring it, I will include the wiring diagram below as well. In the manual it explains a 2 wire mode, where L1 is connected to one hot wire and L/2 AND F wire are connected to the other hot wire but with this mode the "Fan mode" is not available, but there is no F wire. The only wires are the L/1,L/2 and two 24v wires(red and black).
Now to use all the wiring, Im assuming the two 24v wires need to be connected to an external 24vac transformer that i will have to purchase, then connected to a 24vac thermostat?
Do i need to connect the two 24v wires to a transformer? Id rather just connect the two hot wires coming from the 30amp breaker, then to the 240v thermostat, which is then connected to the heating unit, and of course a ground wire. But is this safe? Is the 24vac transformer necessary?
