Hello
Having difficulty wiring a reversing Drum sw to my bead roller motor

Drum Switch:
The popular one purchase at the bay sold by Relay and Controll Corp model
RS-1A 1 ph up to 2 HP. 6 terminal Forward, Off, Reverse positions

Motor:
GE fractional HP Gear motor
1 PH 230 VAC
reversing capable under the motor cover

Don't think that the drum sw is the problem. I understand the wire pairing in the Switch instructions.

I think the problem is available wires under the motor cover.

Of course under the cover is L1 & L2 ( 115 vac on each leg for 230v operation. The Only other available wires are Labeled "BLUE or T1" & Yellow or T4 Both are on spade terminals. Instructions are to switch the Bl & Y wires to reverse the motor rotation.
If I had all 6 wires the sw install would be no problem.
Motor changes direction fine when I do it independently.

Tks for suggestions
ed

My suggestion is you have to bring the maize and blue wires out of the motor cover (extend them to drum switch) and then you can connect them in a straight thru or crossover configuration.

Iow, you will have actually 4 additional conductors exiting the motor enclosure. Two of them will be extensions of maize and blue, the other two will be connected to the spade lugs on the terminal board. The drum switch is going to connect these together in 2 different ways depending on the position of the drum.

If you need more specifics, post a pic of the drum switch wiring and I will give you my opinion on how to hook it up.

Here is a possibility. Not sure if your drum switch has this configuration but if it does I believe this will work. I called the spade lugs X1 and X2 even though they are not specifically labelled like that. After I looked again, they would be T1 and T4 on your diagram.
