How update SnapOn Solus Edge?

At the school shop, we bought a nice SnapOn Solus Edge in 2014. Time to bring it up to date for newer cars. I have installed the SnapOn software on my work laptop, and made sure the scanner and computer will connect. Firmware is up to date. I need to get it up to current model year for vehicles.

I have found the pricing on SnapOn Canada's website, but there is nowhere to actually buy it. I sent an inquiry to SnapOn a couple of weeks ago, but no response. I'll guess I need to contact the local dealer for the download?

Hmm, get a quote first, you might find it's cheaper to just buy a newer/better platform

I do keep my ancient MT2500 as a pre OBD2/EOBD tool and it's really good on those old cars nobody wants to repair anymore from pre 2000 Launch/Autel will run rings around most tool truck scanners nowadays

I got all mine from the truck.

Prices vary a bit from dealer to dealer, but mine were about $1000 US. My dealer would charge for the first and give the second for free.

That was on an older Verus Pro.

If they ever added it, it would be in shop stream connect. I'm pretty sure it's only possible to update yourself if you're enrolled into their subscription plan though. An old software version like you have doing a one time upgrade requires a dealer/rep I believe.

Sometimes this is the way to go.

For a little more than update cost, you can trade into a newer unit. Better batteries, screen, etc. If your going to meet with a dealer, this should be considered.

That said, I keep my gen1 modis around as a meter/scope. I recently got the new generation OBD1 adapter cable for my solus legend, so the modis will never be a scanner again.

Yes, it's not in Shop Stream Connect, that's what I used to connect with. I'll see what a local dealer says.

I get updates from my truck dealer for the Zeus. It's much more cheaper than from the website.

The OP mentions the school shop. I would look at getting hold of an industrial rep from SO. I would guess the have them in Canada.

I have never seen a upgrade done other than from a dealer.

If you can buy on the industrial side, prices maybe way better than you would think.
