Garage door repair is doing great! From outside cant even tell. Neighbors didnt even think it broke untill I showed them the inside of the door.

Thanks! One issue I do have is the left side of the garage door( when looking at it from outside) doesn't quite go all the way to the ground, probably a 1/4 to 1/2" gap at the corner where it should be flush to the ground?

Any ideas?

sounds like the door needs adjusting, might be with it broke in the first place.. kind of sounds like the door is canted.

Your GDO looks off-center. I'm not sure if they're supposed to be centered or not, but I can visualize the door getting racked when it's lifted, and causing the exact type of failure you had.

Also, I'd definitely fix rather than replace. Plywood was mentioned because it'll do the same repair as your metal, but spread over a larger area. Hell, you could make plywood patches 8ft wide and 2ft tall, to completely cover each individual panel. Not gonna break that!

Too much plywood affects the weight of the door enough to require spring adjustment, or perhaps even new springs.

You can get away with the off center mount. But especially on a wider door like this, the springs had better be well adjusted.
