How would you light this space? (pic included)

Have a house build in process and need to decide on lighting layout for basement area.

The area outlined in yellow will be used for storage (food, supplies, stuff, etc), but I like to SEE with plenty of light. It is under my concrete front porch and will have 2 doors as indicated in pic. Actual inside width is around 7'2", with ceiling height 8'6". Concrete walls and steel decking ceiling (concrete poured on decking).

I plan to use 4' LED dual bulb lights (blue rectangles in pic). Would you place them parallel to the room like on left, or perpendicular to the room like on the right?

No pics, so I'll answer in generalities.
When you open the door, it's not comfortable to look at a 4' wide bar of light. It's much more comfortable to look at the end of the light. The only reason I would change that is if you were going to have shelves in there. If so, I'd run the light parallel to the shelves to maximize the light falling on them.
Good luck,
CD

You can't see the pic? Weird, I can see it on my laptop, but not when on my phone. I'll try and fix that.

I do plan to have rack shelving in the space, so I think your suggestion of the lights being parallel to the walls makes great sense.

What do you guys think spacing between the lights would be best? 2', 4' ? I don't want to go too much and have dark spots between them.
