How would you solve this little enduro problem?

I have a Husqvarna 701 that I just installed a under seat gas tank. Problem is my tank bag now sits on the cap and blocks the vent. One solution would be to drill and tap the cap (it’s made out of aluminum) and install a 90 degree fitting to keep it low profile. I think this takes a special tap and I’m not sure where to source the fitting. Any ideas?

I would just get a 90 degree plastic fitting from Home Depot (plumbing or irrigation dept)push a piece of rubber tube on the cap, then push on 90degree fitting and then the rubber tube /vent

btw i dont even use the vent, i just stick the tube down the steering stem nut, or in your case in front of carbon cover @steering head.

The valve is there to keep gas from pouring out the tube when you dump the bike. I've run without it too but it's probably a good idea to keep it if possible. I don't know if the valve needs to be in a certain orientation to work correctly. That should be easy to test.

A small brass or stainless fitting would not get attacked by gasoline like some plastics will.

Good point on the plastic.
I think the vent is common when its a straight up exit from cap so the one-way vent is effective but no vent when oriented down through steering stem bolt like mx or trials .
The brass 90 would be perfect and readily available at a big box store👍
