Been wanting a plasma cutter for a while. Been watching CL for the right deal. Picked up a powermax 45 for $900. It's a year and a half old and in good shape. I think I did pretty well on the price from what I can tell. While I was there I noticed a couple Millermatic 252's against the wall. I picked this one up for $1500 and it's only 7 months old! I wasn't looking for a welder, I already have a Millermatic 135 but for some reason I couldn't walk away from it. I have always been really happy with my 135 but after using this 252 I didn't know what I was missing! I sold my 135 the same day and got $800 out of it so I think I did really well on this too.

Old vs. new...

Great deal on both. ~1/2 of new on the plasma, ~2/3 of new on the mig. Mig units really hold their value. I'd be very happy if I was in your shoes.

This is the most impressive part to me. Someone paid you $800 for a used MM135? :wtf: What all did you include with it?

I would say you did fantastic. Around here you would have been lucky to $500 for that. I have to assume it was someone with more money than smarts.

Used MM135 - $300
Used cart - $50
Used cover - $40
New spool - $40 at store, $25 from Craigslist seller

Total - $ Way less than what you got = way to go.

I should have you sell my MM140 set up. If I could get anywhere near that it would more than double what I have in it. Again great job!
