’ll be 62 in June and I’ve spent most of my life working as a professional musician. This handyman business has kind of emerged in recent years out of necessity, having to do as much as I can myself rather than paying someone. The more I’ve done it, though, the more I’ve realized I enjoy it - I like fixing things, figuring things out, learning new skills. I also really like inventing things, finding my own creative solutions.

My weakness is over focusing on trivial detail, overkill. Kind of a mild OCD I guess. Another way I’ve heard it put — trying to build a Mercedes when the job calls for Volkswagen.

A good Handy Man will always be in demand. Your best source of leads will be from referrals.

A small advertisement in your local paper should bring you a few calls.

Property Management firms are always looking for good handymen.
